Power From Flowers

In your next scrapbooking or card project, why not include a flower or two?  Use a flower stamp set or flower stickers, a canvas background stamp, and some ribbon.  Combine colors that create an exciting color palette.  Use a canvas background stamp that matches your scrapbooking paper.  When stamped tone on tone, the canvas background gives paper a subtle look mimicking popular scrapbooking papers.  A simple strip of coordinating card stock creates a center stripe that immediately attracts attention.  Attach the flower to a tag using a brad of some type, then mount the tag onto the card with a dimensional of some type.  Fold over the top edge of the matching scrapbook paper, and secure it in place with a staple.

To step it up, add a word to the card.  This greeting creates a secondary focal point to complement the flower tag .   By inking only the word(s) you need, you can use one word from a phrase stamp or sticker.  One group of greetings can provide options for many cards.

The finishing touch is the ribbon which ties in a simple knot around the center strip, or close to the strip.  Add the ribbon by making a small slit on each side of the strip with a hobby knife, then thread the ribbon through the slits.  This additional horizontal piece on the strong strip balances the design and guides the eye smoothly between the spunky flowers and greeting.
