A scrapbook is a wonderful way of preserving memories by placing photos or printed media in decorative albums or books. This idea has been around for a long time. But scrapbooking has come a long way since those albums that only included photos mounted with photo mount corners and contained no notation of where, when, or who the photo was. Everyone has a story to tell so a book of durable material should be used. A beginner scrapbook kit can be purchased from a mass merchandiser containing a small album and all of the items essential, along with instructions on how to complete the project. The internet also provides various sites for achieving those scrapbooking goals, as well many magazine publications that can be purchased with articles containing lots of ideas for new projects.
Journaling on a card and then placing it behind a picture is easy to do and adds interest to the card. Secure the photo to the top panel of the card with a secure adhesive. Write on the inside of the folded card and glue it to the base page with the adhesive. Lift the photo panel up to expose the writing on the card beneath. Please place your ideas here card making!
Before using a new stamp on an album page, practice stamping it on scratch paper so you know how much ink to use and ow much pressure to apply when using it. Don't rock the stamp back and forth. Apply the same pressure all the way across the stamp and lift it stright up so that you don't cause any smudges on your paper. Clean the stamp(s) with baby wipes or a wet paper towel. Do you have more ideas using rubber stamps? Please list them.
This section of our site is created for those of you who will share one or two of your scrapbooking ideas with others. They don't have to be lengthy, but just some project that you found interesting and would be useful to others. I used a brayer for the first time a few days ago. Here's an idea using that brayer for making a card. Start by placing a piece of vellum on a scratch piece of paper. Ink the brayer by rolling it over a stamp pad. Roll the brayer over the vellum until the vellum is evenly coated with the ink. Quickly stamp off the image(s) that you wish to use with a clean, dry stamp. Be sure to clean the stamp off each time for a crisp look. Allow the vellum to dry thoroughly. Complete your project, using the vellum as an accent or background for your card.
